Effective May 1, 2019, AFSCME 127 joined the SDPEBA partnership to provide their members access to the great benefits offered by SDPEBA. As a result, in addition to the Sharp Health Plans available through the City’s Flexible Benefits program- AFSCME 127 members can also access the following plans for FY21:
- AFLAC (Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital, Life) *
- Best Health Wellness
- Identity Guard
- Liberty Mutual
- MetLife Legal (formerly Hyatt Legal)*
- Nationwide Pet Insurance
- Purchasing Power
- VSP Vision (Enhanced 2 Pair Plan) *
- UNUM Long Term Care
* Only available during Open Enrollment.
These benefits will be deducted through a post-tax deduction. If you are choosing to take dental or vision coverage through SDPEBA, please be sure to cancel or not select a dental or vision plan through the City’s Benefits portal in SAP.

AFSCME 127 members are also eligible to enroll into the Sharp Health Plans – (Classic, Select, Saver) during open enrollment. HOWEVER, enrollment must be completed through the City’s Benefits portal in SAP.
